Drake: Take Care Album Review

Artist Drake’s sophomore album Take Care released on November 15. With all of the momentum of his debut album “Thank me Later” as well as multiple features on songs with other top artists, Take Care had a lot of expectancy weighing on it. The album was originally scheduled to release on Drake’s birthday, October 24. Only a few weeks earlier it was forced to be pushed back. So was Take Care worth the wait? 17 tracks and a dropped jaw later I have an answer. Yes, Take Care is well worth the wait. Each song the rhythm is changed as he uses little consistency in his beats. Drake changes up his style every track switching from singing to rapping with ease. He appeals to more than one audience.
Drake makes music for those hardcore rap fans with songs like “Underground Kings” and “Lord Knows” where he flows non-stop and shows he is a true lyricist.  On the other side of things if you are a fan of R& B Drake has songs like “Marvin’s Room” and "The Real Her". Alot of the CD he switches mid song from rap to singing and vice versa. Thank me later was good but Drake is clearly maturing as an artist and is showing it in his music. Take Care is well worth adding to the collection and will be a good listen for months to come.

Rihanna: Talk That Talk Album Review

Rihanna led off her new album “Talk That Talk” with her single “We Found Love”. The video for the song let everyone know Rihanna is changing even still. After multiple albums of completely different styles it’s hard to expect what she will do with her music. Her first album “Music of the Sun” released back in 2005, and six albums later she has emerged with a completely different sound. She sings about real problems now and seems to put a lot more of emotion into her music then when she first came onto the scene with her hits “Pon De Replay” and “Please Don’t Stop The Music”.
There are many standouts on this album including her songs “Cockiness” and “Drunk on Love”. Just when you think Ri-Ri has to be out of ideas she surprises you with a something new. The album says sexy from cover to cover, and it sells its message very well. This is some of Rihanna’s better work as she took her music to a different level.
