The Next Best Thing...
The Columbia AJ XI. A pristine classic from the 90s. MJ's All Star game shoe in 1996...
Many sneakerheads believe the Concord XI is the best colorway of this shoe, but the Columbia is my personal favorite. The OG's had a tinted outsole to limit yellowing, but the surrounding white patent leather mudguard and white cloth lace locks yellowed like none other. Even a deadstock OG pair looks terrible today...
Well, the next best thing drops May 1st...the Silver Anniversary AJ XI.
It's no Columbia, but it's damn close. For some reason this model lacks a Jumpman on the heel side. Kind of a big thing to forget, if you ask me.
Regardless, I have been able to resist getting the AJ 3, 4 & 9, but this one I think I'll have to break down for. It's the next best thing...
Also, if you were planning on picking up the AJ 2 white/red mid, that date has now been pushed to May 22.
Now, if you caught the Sixers/Heat game last night, you saw Dwyane Wade wearing another exclusive colorway of the AJ 2010...
White/Forest Green! I am assuming it's for Earth Day initiatives, as Lebron has been wearing a green headband lately. More pics of D-Wade's PEs here (thanks to Sneaker News).
And to leave you with a non-Jordan note, peep the retro of the Reebok Court Victory hitting stores now...
Almost identical to the OG Michael Changs! Thanks to Rich at Kix and the City for the pics...
