Nike Futbol, Part Three
To conclude our three day look at Nike futbol, here's a peek at the Nike "Sportswear Six collection", a collaboration of Nike apparel & footwear with designs from artists of that country. The "Six" is comprised of the USA, England, Brasil, France, The Netherlands and South Africa.
The USA collection, designed by LA's own Mister Cartoon, features a black/white Lunar Reujven8 Mid, a black/white Footscape Free Motion and an all-black indoor soccer shoe classic Zoom Tiempo.
The Footscape Free Motion is the gem of this pack - a quickstrike available in the coming weeks...
The England collection, designed by English artist James Jarvis, features a white/red Lunar Rejuven8 Mid, white/red Footscape Free Motion and white/black/red Zoom Tiempo.
The Rejuven8s are my favorite from the English footwear...
The Brasil collection, designed by Brazilian street artist Nunca, features an Air Max BW Gen 2, Dunk High AC, and Zoom Tiempo.
Nunca uses Incan symbolism and hieroglyphic handwriting in his art. I kinda wish they made a male version of this polo...
The France collection, designed by French artist So Me, features a Dunk High AC, Air Max BW Gen 2 and Lunar Rejuven8 Mid.
The Air Max BW Gen 2 from this pack is something else...
The Netherlands collection, designed by Delta (Boris Tellegen), features an Air Max BW Gen 2, Lunar Rejuven8 Mid and a Dunk High AC.
Delta likes to use geometry and hidden messages hidden within a design.
And finally the host country, South Africa, featuring a collection designed by Kronk.
The collection features probably the coolest design for a t-shirt or tank top...
Aside from the Sportswear Six, Nike has also issued World Cup packs featuring the Air Max Light and the Sweet Classic High.
The Air Max Light pack is only available in Europe and features colorways for the US, Portugal, Holland & Brasil.
The World Cup pack of Sweet Classic Highs, made up of artistic canvas uppers, features seven country colorways - USA, Brasil, South Korea, Netherlands, Slovenia, Australia, and Croatia
