Kay Wow!
Mother's Day was yesterday and the ever-popular Susan B Komen "Think Pink" campaign for breast cancer awareness was in full effect. MLB stars were adorned in pink and swinging pink bats. Appropriately, Dallas Braden of the Oakland A's even threw a perfect game on Mother's Day, who lost his mother to cancer.
Shockingly, no NBA players wore anything pink yesterday, despite there being two playoff games. Maybe if Kobe had played Sunday instead of Saturday, he might have worn these Zoom Kobe V "Kay Yow" Breast Cancer Awareness PEs...
(I still like the IV more than the V!)
Here are more pics of the unreleased PE. Thanks to Rich at KATC and my buddy Matt/ABT for the pics...
A well-executed V PE. Much better color-blocking than the kids GS Kobe V that dropped in March...
Last year Nike gave the Lebron signature line some love with a "Think Pink" Zoom Soldier III...
Lebron wore these ZS3's in a preseason game vs the Bobcats...
There were also two unreleased "Think Pink" Nike Air Max Lebron LBJ VIIs -- a white pair that he never wore in a game...
And a black pair which he wore vs. the Chicago Bulls back in December 2009...
You'll remember this regular season game as the one where Lebron & company were doing their riverdance impersonations and Noah & Lebron were jawing at each other all night.
My favorite still out of all the Nike basketball Kay Yow releases was the original from two years ago -- the "Think Pink" Hyperdunk...
It definitely was a touching scene to see the NC State team wear the Kay Yow inspired shoes & jerseys.
